Event Times
Performances take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Doors will open at either 7pm or 7:30pm, so please note the start time for the event on your ticket. Seating is general admission.
How Do I Get To The Brooklyn Navy Yard?
Check in for Fly By Night is at the Brooklyn Navy Yard’s Sands St Gate, located at the intersection of Sands Street and Navy Street and shown on the map to the right. There is no access to Fly By Night from any other Navy Yard entrance. Please also note that there is no parking available inside the Navy Yard.
Arriving by Subway, Bus or CitiBike
• The Sands St Gate is a 10 minute walk from the F train’s York Street Station.
• The B57, B62, B67 and B69 bus lines all stop near the Sands St Gate.
• A CitiBike dock is located just inside the Sands St Gate.
What About the Weather?
Fly By Night cannot take place in inclement weather. In the event of rain or excessive wind or fog you will receive an email prior to the event notifying you of its cancellation. Unfortunately, we cannot reschedule cancelled performances, but we encourage you to register for an alternate date if one is available.
What Should I Bring?
Please bring a photo ID and a digital or printed copy of your ticket.
Will there be food and drink?
Yes! Until the flight begins, Bonbite, a locally sourced catering company based in the Yard, will be at Duke Riley’s famous Driftwood bar serving up beer, wine, and sandwiches by the water. Purchase is by credit card only. Additionally, Kings County Distillery — whose home is also in the Yard — has opened their brand new whiskey bar at the Sands Street Gate House directly across from Fly By Night check in. We invite you to pay them a visit for a drink before or after the show.
Is The Performance Suitable For All Ages?
Yes! Children of all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please note that anyone under 19 must have a waiver signed by a guardian. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Is The Performance Wheelchair Accessible?
Yes.
What If My Desired Performance Is Sold Out?
Sorry to hear that! You can either register for another performance or join the waitlist for your preferred date. To do this, simply move through the registration process for a sold out event. After joining the waitlist, you will be notified if a spot opens and you will have 24 hours to complete your reservation.
Can I Bring My Pet?
Unfortunately not. The Brooklyn Navy Yard does not allow pets on-site.
Is Flash Photography Allowed Onsite?
Given the nature of the performance, additional light and sound onsite can distract the birds. We ask that visitors refrain from using flash photography, switch cell phones to silent, and turn on screens sparingly.
