![]() Snowday encourages us to take a moment from the urban environment and simply enjoy an elemental experience: snow, which is often absent from urban winters. Using the floor of Grand Central Terminal's main concourse as a stage, Builders Association filmed people from an aerial vantage point crossing the Terminal from all directions. As light snowflakes fall upon the crowds, people gradually indulge in more whimsical winter activities such as ice-skating and cross-country skiing across the floor, all amidst pedestrian traffic. Finally, the screen dissolves into a sudden blizzard of heavy snow and the fleeting window to this winter fantasy closes. Snowday Performers:
![]() The Builders Association creates large-scale theater projects exploring the interface between live performance and media. Directed by Marianne Weems, the company's work retrofits theater for a contemporary audience, using current tools to interpret old forms. Holding a Masters degree from NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP), Jeff Morey manages The Builders Association's software programming and maintains their web site in addition to acting as Sound, Video, Web, and Promotions Designer at the film and performance company, Delicious Biscuit. Morey's work also includes video design and programming for "AIDS: A Living Archive'", kinetic sculpture engineering, and musical instrument/interface design as well as sound design for Mollie O'Brien and Rip Torn. |
